DESCRIPTION:Workshop Facilitator: Cheyanne Pitawanakwat \nRegistration required\nParticipants must commit to attending all three workshop days.\nMaximum of 15 participants.\nLunch will be provided. \nCheyanne Pitawanakwat is a proud member of Whitefish River First Nation. For the past five years\, she has been learning the art of Fish Skin Tanning\, which transforms raw fish skin into durable leather using traditional techniques. During this workshop\, she will be teaching the Tea Tanning Method. \nWorkshop Schedule:\nDay 1: Cheyanne will share her experience and discuss what inspired her journey into Fish Skin Tanning. Participants will begin scraping and preparing fish skins for the Tea Tanning Method.\nDay 2: Participants will finish scraping any remaining skins and receive written instructions to take home to care for their skins until the final session.\nDay 3: Participants will complete their fish leather to keep or use in creating a small craft.
