SUMMARY:Traditional Healer Joseph Syrette
DESCRIPTION:JOSEPH SYRETTE is Anishinaabe Ojibwe from Batchewana First Nation located in Sault Ste Marie\, Ontario. He currently lives in Mount Pleasant\, Michigan with his Family.  \nGrowing up as a traditional shkaabewis “helper” Joe has learned to balance his spiritual and personal life while continuing to always remain humble with the knowledge he carries. He has spent his young and adolescent years in Ontario learning how to live in duality between the modern world and traditional Anishinaabe world through fasting and attending ceremonies. He currently helps communities and other traditional people and healers when needed allowing his knowledge and traditional teachings to grow. He has also gained knowledge and language from his traditional Ojibwe family\, as well as the many elders and spiritual people from Batchewana\, Garden River and other First Nations across North America and the United States.  \nSpending a life time of listening and learning about himself as an Anishinaabe person\, this has allowed him to value and respect all physical and spiritual beings and their protocols. He has had the opportunity of working alongside many different elders and healers to which he has been given teachings and rights to helping his Anishnaabek relatives with spiritual healing.  \nTraditional Ceremony/ Services  \n\nName\, Clan\, Colors\nSpiritual\, Physical\, Emotional\, Mental Healing\nTraditional Teachings and Guidance\nTraditional Doctoring\nDreams/Visions Interpretations\nTraditional Medicines\nLife Experiences Listening/Talks\nSweat Lodge Ceremony\nFasting/Releasing Ceremony\nSpiritual Connections\nIdentity and Relations\n\nTo book an appointment\, contact:  \nRenee Kozachanko\nTraditional Intake Care Coordinator\nrenee.kozachanko@noojmowin-teg.ca\nTel: (705) 368-0083\nMobile: (705) 968-0809

SUMMARY:Lunch & Learn (for employees)
DESCRIPTION:Lunch & Learn with Guest Speaker Bobby Hudson\nfor Noojmowin Teg Health Centre and Mnaamodzawin employees \nBobby Hudon (He/Him)\, (She/Her)\, (They/Them)\, (We/Our) is a proud Queer individual who was born and raised in Manitoba. With over 18 years of lived experience and involvement with 2SLGBTQIAP+ culture and communities\, Bobby has dedicated most of their adult life as a Helper. They began working in the social field in Treaty 1 where they helped to build and nurture safe spaces and communities for urban 2SLGBTQIAP+ folks. Much of their work is founded in Indigenous Tradition and practices\, as well as harm reduction principles. Bobby received their Spirit Name in a 2-Spirit Sweat at the Thunderbird Lodge in Winnipeg\, MB. In 2019\, Bobby made the life-changing decision to move to Treaty 3 to begin a life in Fort Frances\, Ontario\, where they continue to work as a Helper. Applying Teachings and experiences from the city to rural environments and First Nations across Canada\, Bobby continues to provide immediate support to 2SLGBTQIAP+ folks\, families\, and Communities.Bobby is a mix of European descent with ancestors of Indigenous heritage on their mother’s side. While much is still unknown regarding the connection to their own Indigineity\, Bobby continues to learn more about their Blood Memory through Ceremony and Connection to the Land and to Creator.
