Community Addictions Support Workers

Community Addictions Support Workers provide services in a safe community setting to men and women 16 years of age and over. Programs and services include:

  • Case Management – Ongoing monitoring and support along with planning and advocating for services required by individuals who are registered in the service by their Addictions Support Worker.
  • Assessments – An Addictions Support Worker can administer government standardized drug/alcohol assessments required for admission to specific treatment programs.
  • Treatment Planning – An individual’s assessment results as well as their individual readiness for change are used to determine the best possible treatment options while taking into account potential barriers that may be encountered.
  • Continuing Care – An Addictions Support Worker will identify, assist and facilitate appropriate ongoing care to clients who have successfully withdrawn and/or completed treatment for substance misuse.

Referrals can be made by self-referral or by community or health providers as well. As well, the Community Addictions Support Workers offer on-going telephone support and referrals to other appropriate services.
